Course & Credit Overview
How Many Courses Can I Take?
- Students who participate in the optional month-long Intensive Spanish session before the semester can take 2 or 3 courses during the semester. Students who enroll only in the semester may take 3 or 4 courses.
Early Start Option: Intensive Spanish Session:

The optional Intensive Spanish session is for 4 weeks right before the Semester starts. Classes meet 5 hours per day, Monday-Friday. Not only can you extend your time in Argentina, but it’s a great way to brush up on your Spanish, complete a foreign language requirement, or level up so you can take more classes in Spanish during the semester!
Possible U.S. Credits:
- 12-16 semester credits for Semester Only / 16-20 semester credits for Semester + Intensive Spanish. (Note! Some US institutions have a credit overload fee if you take over a certain number of credits. Discuss your credit load with your home institution and ask them if there will be a credit overload fee.)
- Courses worth 60 contact hours (4 semester credits or 6 quarter units) meet twice weekly for 90 minutes.
- The optional Early Start Intensive Spanish session meets 5 hours per day, Monday-Friday and is worth 120 contact hours (8 semester credits or 12 quarter units).
- Classes taken with American and international students.
