Interested students must have completed at least 4 semesters of college French (or equivalent). The placement process will begin shortly after you submit your application. Universidad de Belgrano offers an exciting service learning course, Spanish for Community Service. This community-based course combines coursework with a volunteering experience in an NGO, museum, library, or school. The professional experience will be academically directed, supervised by a UB faculty, and conducting a project. Students will work 6 hours/week with the guidance of a mentor. They will also meet the faculty once a week to discuss both the assignments and the reading materials. This combination will bring students a meaningful insight of the daily life of the local culture, while also enabling an increased intercultural understanding, and increasing their Spanish acquisition. Both the course and volunteering project are conducted in Spanish.
ASA students at Florence University of the Arts have the option of completing a 3-credit Internship or Experiential Learning Project (ELP) alongside their classes, at no additional cost. Both an Internship and ELP give students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at a company, organization, or one of the many departments and outside partnerships of Florence University of the Arts. The main difference between the two is that an Internship generally takes place at outside companies or organizations and usually has an Italian language requirement from Low Intermediate to Advanced, depending on the placement. Whereas, the majority of ELPs do not have an Italian language requirement and, therefore, are open to all applicants. Opportunities are available in a wide variety of fields such as: Business, Communications, Marketing, Culinary Arts, Fashion, Journalism, Athletics, Tourism, Hospitality and Event Planning. Internships and ELPs are credit-bearing.
Students at John Cabot University have the option of completing a 3-credit internship alongside their classes, at no additional cost. An internship can give students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at an Italian company or organization. It's also a great way to meet Italian people!
Opportunities are available in Art, Business, Education, Finance, Graphic Design, Journalism, Marketing, Politics, and much more!
Semester and academic year students in Sevilla can do a customized internship while attending classes. Students can complete a credit-bearing internship alongside their coursework for an additional fee of $500. You can earn anywhere from 3 to 6 credits for an internship. While it's helpful to know some Italian, as this will open up more opportunities for you, it's not required to know Italian in order to intern. Past students have been placed in fields such as Marketing, Business, Tourism, Hospitality, Management, Event Planning, Art, Architecture, Education, Media, Communication and Health Sciences.
