Cancellation Insurance

Because ASA program fees become non-refundable before the program starts, we strongly encourage purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment.

To have the maximum level of protection against losses for trip cancellation, CFAR (Cancel for Any Reason insurance) is needed, and we do recommend purchasing this. Please be aware that CFAR must be purchased within 15 calendar days of making your initial trip payment. However, even if you miss the window for CFAR, the other coverages below such as Trip Cancellation Package, Trip Interruption, Trip Delay, etc. can still be purchased up until the day before your departure - and we strongly recommend doing so to protect your investment.

There are lots of insurance companies out there, making it confusing to determine which policy to buy. The following plan that we have found includes only the things you need: click here for a quote from battleface. Availability of plans and coverages may vary by state. battleface allows you to purchase any of the following, in any combination:

  • Trip Cancellation Package—Covers the non-refundable cost of your program in the event you must cancel for a covered reason. Also includes Single Occupancy Coverage.

  • Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR)—Covers cancellation of a covered trip for any reason not otherwise covered by the policy, up to 75% (50% in Florida) of non-refundable trip costs. Purchase conditions apply. You must purchase within 15 days of initial trip payment, and insure the full amount of any non-refundable trip costs (i.e. your entire trip cost). The cancellation must occur no less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure date.

  • Trip Interruption Coverage*—Can reimburse up to 150% of your pre-paid and non-refundable trip cost if a portion of a program is missed, or if you must return home early due to unforeseen circumstances, including illness, injury, or death.

  • Trip Delay Package*—Can reimburse up to $200 per day and $2,500 for the costs of meals, local transportation and accommodations when your program is unexpectedly delayed for covered reasons, plus Missed Connection, which can reimburse up to $1,000 for the cost of extra transportation to rejoin the program, additional local expenses, and the cost of missed arrangements.

  • Baggage Package*—Provides up to $2,500 for reimbursement of lost, stolen, or damaged luggage, sporting equipment and personal effects. Also includes Baggage Delay, which provides up to $100 per day or $500 per trip to cover the purchase of clothing, toiletries, and other essential items if your luggage is delayed for a specified period of time.

*The maximum coverage length available through battleface is 90 days (30 days for FL residents). If your program is longer than 90 days and you want coverage for the full duration of your program, you may check the links below.
