ASA's Newest Photo Contest is LIVE!

Celebrate the spirit of global learning through your lens.

 

We’re inviting students, faculty, and partners to submit their best snapshots from abroad—moments that capture the beauty, flavor, and cultural vibrancy of the world.

 

Winning photos will be featured across ASA digital platforms and receive special prizes.

 

Contest Categories

Submit to one or more of the following:

 

1. Countryside, Landscapes & Cityscapes: Natural scenery, rural life, sweeping landscapes, and the vibrant geometry of urban spaces — skylines, street scenes, architectural details, and the energy of the modern city.
 
2. Meals, Cuisine & Culinary Moments: Street food, home‑cooked meals, market scenes, café culture—photos that highlight the flavors and rituals of eating around the world.
 
3. Culture, Music & Entertainment: Festivals, performances, artisans, local traditions, nightlife, and everyday cultural expression.

Rules

  1. Step 1: Submission Information
    • Save your photo as follows:
      FirstNameLastName_TermAbroad_Location_Title_Category#_Photo#of#
      Example: “IvanaTravel_Fall26_Barcelona_Festival of Color_3_Photo1of3
    • Include a short caption (1-3 sentences) with each photo describing the photo or what you want us to know about that captured moment
    • No more than 10 photos per category
    • Photos must be from one of the ASA program locations (see website) or faculty led/custom program locations
  2. Step 2: Please send the original photo file and not a screenshot; the higher the resolution, the better.
    • JPEG or PNG
    • Minimum 2000px on the long edge
    • No watermarks or filters
  3. Step 3: What NOT to submit

    To keep the contest safe, respectful, and appropriate for all audiences, the following are not allowed:

    • Violence or graphic content
    • Alcohol‑focused or drug‑related imagery
    • Photos that violate local laws or site rules
    • Images featuring individuals who did not consent to being photographed
    • Copyrighted or AI‑generated images
    • Photos taken in unsafe or restricted areas

    ASA reserves the right to disqualify any submission that does not meet these standards.

  4. Step 4: By entering this contest, you agree to let ASA use your photos in our marketing materials.
  5. Step 5: Winners & Prizes

    Winners will be selected for each category, plus one overall Grand Prize. Winners will be notified by email.

    • Grand Prize: ASA swag bundle + feature on ASA homepage, Social Media + spotlight in our newsletter and $XX gift card
    • Category Winners: ASA merch + feature on social media + $XX Gift Card
    • Honorable Mentions: Social media feature
  6. Step 6: Key Dates
    • Submissions Open: August 15, 2026
    • Deadline: September 25, 2026
    • Winners Announced: Nov 4, 2026
