Madrid Housing, Excursions & Support Package
Students on an exchange program in Madrid often have difficulty securing housing due to Madrid's competitive housing market. In addition, exchange programs often lack on-site support. ASA's Housing, Excursions & Support Packages solve both these challenges:
OPTION 1 - SHARED APARTMENT
Price: $8,995 per person per semester

Optional: Medical insurance is NOT provided unless specifically requested. This is normally already be provided by your home institution, so please confirm this with your home institution. Students who do not receive international medical insurance from their home institution that meets Spanish student visa requirements may purchase this from ASA for an additional $60 per month. Partial months will be billed as full months. For example, a program that is 4.5 months will be billed as 5 months. Check with your home institution to find out if the international medical insurance they provide will meet the Spanish Consulate’s requirements.

ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODS: E-Check or mailed check
$2,500 CONFIRMATION DEPOSIT (FIRST PAYMENT INSTALLMENT): $2,500 non-refundable Confirmation Deposit is due 1 week after acceptance of your application. This secures your space and allows us to move forward with your arrangements.
$2,500 SECOND PAYMENT INSTALLMENT: Non-refundable and due NOVEMBER 15 for SPRING, or JUNE 15 for FALL
FINAL PAYMENT
- Your final balance is due DECEMBER 1 for SPRING, or JULY 1 for FALL
- If you have financial aid that can be used toward this package, please note that it cannot be used to defer your two non-refundable $2,500 installments. You may defer only the final balance by submitting this Financial Aid Verification Form by DECEMBER 1 for SPRING, or JULY 1 for FALL
CANCELLATION POLICY - FALL SEMESTER
- You may withdraw until July 1 and receive a refund minus the non-refundable $5,000.00. Request for withdrawal must be received by ASA by June 30.

100% of ASA fees are non-refundable on or after July 1. On or after July 1, there are absolutely no refunds.
- In the event of a withdrawal for any reason, students remain responsible for paying all non-refundable deferred balances.
CANCELLATION POLICY - SPRING SEMESTER

You may withdraw until December 1 and receive a refund minus the non-refundable $5,000.00. Request for withdrawal must be received by ASA by November 30.

MOVE-IN & MOVE-OUT

Early move-in & late move-out ARE NOT ALLOWED. Check-out is by 12pm local time on the move-out day.
- Your move-in and move-out dates will be established according to your academic program, after you make your deposit.
- Please do not book a flight until your move-in and move-out dates are settled.
MEDICAL INSURANCE

If you do not opt into ASA's medical insurance, you will be required to provide ASA with a copy of your international medical insurance policy by Dec. 1 for Spring / July 1 for Fall).
HOUSING PLACEMENT
- After being accepted, you'll fill out a detailed Housing Request Form that we'll use to match you to a housing placement.
- The typical commute to class is approximately 35-50 minutes by public transportation - this is a normal commute, due to the large size of the city and location of most universities.

Students will receive their housing placement approximately 2 weeks before the program start date.
ADDITIONAL POLICIES

Must be accepted on an exchange program at a university in Madrid, Spain, and be attending the university full time.

Exchange program must be administered by one of ASA's US partner universities.
